Safe Makers will review your spaces with an eye towards live entertainment industry safety standards. We offer insights on how to make your stage, house, shop, rehearsal rooms, and backstage spaces safer. We’ll talk ergonomics, work flow, egress, location of protective equipment, layouts of existing equipment, and general functionality and status of existing mechanisms.
While your venue may be in complete compliance with local code, there are still things you can do to make your people safer. We’ll analyze your current procedures - and/or develop new ones. Safe Makers will prepare recommendations on how to reduce risk at your facilities. This also includes Identity and Mental safety to ensure all of your artists feel heard and supported.
Safe Makers know that pedagogy and production collide in K-12 theatre. Sometimes, these elements are more stressful together than they would be separately. We offer project management based tools and approaches to create a learning space that allows for healthy and fulfilling art making.
Thinking about “what happens if” is unique and variable to your environment. Safe Makers will work with you to develop contingency planning and emergency action protocols in case accidents and incidents happen. Procedures will integrate with local and organizational policies and procedures. Our consultants will develop plans and strategize towards implementation regarding potential emergency situations.
Safe Makers representatives Brian and Matthew are both OSHA Outreach Instructors who can bring the entertainment angle to OSHA training. Each course is fine-tuned to your venue and your participants. The 10 or the 30 is available in person or via online learning.
